In the unfortunate event of a leak, there are a few things that will help prevent excessive damage to your property.

1)   Turn water off at the main stop cock. Usually located under the kitchen sink, but if it is not there try the downstairs cloakroom or garage.

2)   If you have an airing cupboard you will need to turn the hot water there. Turn off the red handeld valve which should be about chest height.
